SAN DIEGO WATERCOLOR SOCIETY
Established in 1964, the San Diego Watercolor Society has become one of the largest and most active in the United States. The SDWS International Exhibition is widely recognized for its high standards of excellence in watermedia art.
Linda A. Doll is a painter, digital photographer, graphic artist, instructor and juror. Her award winning paintings of people and still life subjects emphasize skilled composition and design combined with unique applications of flat areas of color. Her technique is used as an example in Frank Webb's book, Strengthen Your Paintings with Dynamic Composition, North Light. You are likely to see her paintings in many other art books and on the covers of magazines.
Linda A. Doll is a Past-President and Life Member of the National Watercolor Society, a Past Board Member and Juror of the American Watercolor Society, and a past Board Member of Watercolor West. She is a Life Honorary Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and an Elected Life Member of the San Diego Watercolor Society. She is also included in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who of American Women. She has served as a juror for the American Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition, National Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition and National Watercolor Society Members Annual.
Linda A. Doll will be teaching a workshop at The San Diego Watercolor Society August 12-15. Her workshops stress the importance of making personal design decisions at each stage of the painting while inspiring confidence and creative excitement within her students.
Approximately $15,000 in awards will including:
Original, water-soluble media on paper or YUPO support, painted within the last two years. All work must be 80% water based media. Collage treated with water media only. No digital art, work produced under instruction, or copies of another's work or of copyrighted references will be accepted.
Painting must not have won awards in other national or international shows. No painting exhibited in a previous SDWS International Exhibition is eligible.
One painting per artist accepted. Paintings must be for sale and available for the duration of the exhibit. A 30% commission will go to SDWS.
