This class consists of four 3-hour classes to be held from 6:00 pm to 9 pm on 4 consecutive weekday evenings.The class has several objectives. Expanding students’ brushwork and use of paint skills is the first to be achieved.Designing a composition using several different devices;creating a focal point; making and using value plans will follow. 

Use of several of the elements and principles of design will be woven into the lessons.

Artist: Julie Anderson

Julie holds a BA degree in art from the University of Delaware and completed graduate studies in art and art history at the Tyler School, Temple University.   After teaching art in grades K through 12 for many years, she retired in 2002.  Her watercolor journey began in 2003 with Continuing Education classes followed by SDWS workshops.  Over time, florals and landscapes changed to figures based on her photos and figure drawings.  In 2013 she developed a method of painting on tracing paper affixed to watercolor paper, which provides the interesting texture seen in her painting.  Julie’s paintings have been juried into many exhibitions including SDWS Member and International, Fallbrook Signature Watermedia International Exhibition, WFWS, NWS Member and International, and NWS/China Small Image Exchange.
