Sit N Paint
Location: San Diego Watercolor Society Education Room
Date: 03/01/2024 09:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Sit n Paint FREE
San Diego Watercolor Society Education Room
OPEN to all active SDWS members and adult member-hosted guests with Staffer-Trained SDWS member artists in the mix.
These FREE sessions must be flexible as to days and hours
and participants must willingly yield to scheduled SDWS events & sudden conflicts. Check the Calendar for adjustments as this new program evolves.
Let's use the available Education Room to Sit & Paint together - as a productive, social use of the space. Camaraderie among like-minded creative folks is a club goal! No lesson plan, just bring your art supplies, set up and paint. Finish your plein air efforts, create greeting cards, get a painting ready for exhibition, work on a series, practice techniques, revive sorrowful paintings.
Discussions inevitably turn to art design and composition and options, art shows and events. No politics / religion / sales pitches Focus on painting. Ear buds are a good item, if you prefer music or words plus a bit of isolation within a group. Few people enjoy the same music at the same time.
Materials Bring your own kit Water - Color - Paper/substrate - Brush
There is ramp access to our building 200;
on the southeast side (beside the Quilt Museum)
We have 6' tables and folding chairs.
If you prefer to stand, consider your options.
Let's reduce our footprint within the gallery by bringing a table cover and our own paper towels. SDWS is for watercolor and mixed water media painters (NO oil paints or oily additives, please). Over time, full bodied Acrylics can clog a sink, so plan to clean thick paints from brushes and palettes onto disposable paper towels/rags before rinsing with soap and water to minimize the flow of paint down the drain. Many of us need the commitment on a calendar or to other people - to show up and paint. Otherwise, life presents other things to do. Let's paint together, now and then. ---

AND arched hallways, called ARCADES. It is a series of arches supported by columns that originated in Rome! These Arcades are all over in Liberty Station.
A perfect challenge for learning perspective.
