Pablo Ruben Lopez Sanz consistently takes first prize in plein air painting events in his native Spain. He has been awarded more than 300 prizes in Spain and France and has recently been given awards at the San Diego Watercolor Society International Exhibition.

Travel is an integral part of his life and work. Rubén shares his experience and knowledge with students, maintaining an intense teaching schedule.

"The difference between what is good and what is excellent is in the small details. Taking care of even the smallest elements that appear in our work will make it perfect and without weak points. Lines of light, proportions of characters, or foreshortening in vehicles are usually the points where you can most easily miss.

The motif of reference is an essential part of the creative process; only we know why we decided to paint one subject or another. It is the most personal thing in each of our works."
