San Diego Museum of Art Docent Tours
Location: San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park

The San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park has a special exhibit of works by Henry Moore and Georgia O’Keefe.
On Monday August 7th, join your fellow SDWS members, family and friends for special docent tours of this exhibit. There will be 2 tour sessions setup for up to 30 people per session, one starting at 10 a.m. and the other at 11 a.m.
Before or after your docent tour, browse other treasures in the Museum and then – Let’s all meet at noon at Panama 66 in the SDMA Courtyard for lunch or a beverage and talk about the exhibit. (No host lunch or beverage)
Cost: Adult $17 plus $10 for special exhibit
Senior (65+) $12 plus $10 for special exhibit
College Student $7 plus $10 for special exhibit
Youth – ages 7-17 Free plus $10 for special exhibit
Pass holder – free plus $10 for special exhibit
Museum member – Free – no extra for special exhibit

Our August 12th Saturday Paintout Demo will be will be at Hospitality Point in Quivira Basin. The location has a rock jetty that goes out to the ocean with dog beach across the way, boat docks, boats, birds and people doing various activities.
Take 8 West. Take right onto West Mission Bay Dr. Circle onto West Mission Bay Dr. Then Left onto Dana Landing Road and then immediate Left onto Quivira Rd. Go out to the end.
Gabriel Stockton, Plein Air watercolor artist and Daniel Smith Ambassador will be our August demo artist. Gabriel loves the freshness and the directness of watercolor. His enjoyment of Plein Air is being able to capture the emotion, activity and the narrative of a specific location. Gabriel enjoys sharing his knowledge of brush stroke confidence, capturing a scene and the special paint that helps create rocks in a painting. In the demo he will tell us about the Primatek and lunar granulating colors by Daniel Smith and how they make painting rocks easy and interesting. He will bring his dot cards so we can try our brush at painting rocks. Gabriel Stockton is an award wining artist and workshop instructor. To find out more about him go to gabrielstocktonfineart.com.
The demo starts promptly at 9am with a review at 12:30 pm. All artists from beginners to professionals are challenged and encouraged to participate. The MORE you GO the MORE you GROW!
