Our July 8th Saturday Paintout will be in Shelter Island near the statue of the three Tuna Fisherman. It is called the Tunaman’s Memorial in Shoreline Park.
Take 8 West to Rosecrans St. Turn Left onto Shelter Island Dr. Go past the roundaboutand and vere to the right and then past the fishing dock on the left and then pull into the first parking lot to the left. The Statue is right there. Come early to get parking as the parking is premium in the summer.
Our award-winning demo artist is Jami Wright. As a retired and experienced art educator Jami’s demos are full of information along with handouts! Jami is going to show us how to capture a scene in a sketchbook without the worry of accuracy and details. The sketch will be a quick five minite capture that gathers the information that you need in your painting. Bring a sketch book and pencils so you can do quick sketching prior to your painting. Jami will then show us how to transfer the quick sketching idea to her watercolor paper. Jami will procede to demo a quickly painted demo that will be full of color and the excitement of the scene she chooses.
The demo starts promptly at 9am with a review at 12:30 pm. All artists from beginners to professionals are challenged and encouraged to participate. The MORE you GO the MORE you GROW!
