Our June 10th Saturday Paintout will be at Bonita Cove facing the Giant Dipper Rollercoaster. The rollercoaster was built in 1925 and is a landmark in Mission Bay.
Take 8 West then take West Mission Bay Dr. Then enter the parking lot on the left before you get to Mission Blvd. Get there early for prime parking. The lot can fill up quickly! Park at the west end closest to the Rollercoaster that is across the street from this lot.
The San Diego Watercolor Society’s June Members Show first place winner Chuck McPherson will be our demo artist. Chuck is a multi-Signature artist of SDWS, WFWS, WW. Chuck is a mentor, watercolor educator, juror, and highly valued volunteer at SDWS!
PAINTSCAPING will be the topic of Chuck’s demo. He will show how to interpret a highly detailed scene and create an impression of it.
The demo starts promptly at 9am with a review at 12:30 pm. All artists from beginners to professionals are challenged and encouraged to participate. Free plein air painting time from 10 am to 12:15 pm, then will gather for a Show & Tell from 12:15 to 1 pm.

Greeting Card Painting Group

Come join Mary Wood and other SDWS members in the Ed Center on Thursday June 15 from noon to 2:45 to make cards for:
- bringing some smiles to the young patients at the Ronald McDonald House, and
- supporting women at Project Safehouse, who are victims of domestic violence. They use the cards to ask friends and family for help with alternate housing and jobs.
Bring a sack lunch, cards, and your art supplies—cards and paints or markers. Some folks use watercolor brush pens. We will be joined by the Cardonistas, a fun group who are also dedicated to this project.
