Abstract Watercolor - Live in Gallery Workshop

Come play with watercolor, acrylic or both to create abstract paintings.

We will explore using acrylic, watercolor and mixed media to create abstract paintings. Work may be more realistic if desired.

Abstract design will be approached in multiple ways for varied effects, including creating spontaneous starts and developing the painting from the starts. Also try creating "planned starts" with a design in mind.

This class will include mark-making, layering, glazing using transparent and opaque paints, collage, stencils, and other mixed media to develop the painting. Design and composition will be explored as part of the process. Each student will be encouraged to develop their own abstract style. Some mixed media products will be available to use during the workshop.

Artist's Website

I am an abstract artist working in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media. My paintings are organic in nature - full of texture and line. I use a spontaneous approach, letting the medium “do its thing,” and then apply design principles to bring it together.
