Congratulations to Barbara Raub, the Volunteer of the Month for March. Barbara’s open-hearted enthusiasm and seven plus years of volunteer expertise have gifted SDWS in a multitude of ways. Her passion for giving to people, making them feel valued and welcome has enhanced many First Fridays, workshops, and the gallery desk where she often volunteers. When staffing the gallery, Barb sees everyone as a potential member, art patron, workshop participant or volunteer and with a degree in Marketing, no wonder! Her warm smile, love of people, enthusiasm for all things art and tireless commitment to analyzing and doing what works has enhanced our San Diego Watercolor Society’s success.
As a workshop volunteer, Barbara has even been known to make cakes at home to bring to the gallery. She works hard to keep participants spirits high, their paint water clean, as well as keeping the instructor’s favorite food or drink readily available. Her favorite volunteer job was the Military Family Education Outreach with the Education Committee. Giving back to those who give everything.
Barb is a keen problem solver never hesitating to take on more responsibility. Encouraging and supportive, Barb always has a quick smile and a warm hug for her peers, workshop participants, and staff. She is a woman who gives from her heart and has made our San Diego Watercolor Society a successful, welcoming, and fun place.
