Juror Commendations
“Bottle Up” by Barbara Inbody
Original graphic presentation and skill in execution. This painting reveals the artist’s passionate vision. This artist really meant to paint this—it is definite.
“Firey Frond” by Donna Arnaudoff
This is a beautiful example of negative shape painting, as well as what to put in and what to take out. This painter listened to the “one focal point” rule with creativity and a loose brush. Beautifully done.
“Absence of Sound” by Kathy Kitz

Juror’s Choice
“Zoutelande Beach” by Jan Min
The expansive feeling of this painting is a grand view of pure wet space. The aroma of sea salt and silence says you have arrived. I’m smiling staring at this.
“In Her Garden” by Jean Silva
The sketch and wash technique caught my eye. It felt like an earlier illustration of a contemporary dress design. The light touch is masterful.
“Relationships 18” by Su Yong Kown
This painter loves to use paint and shows it. Strong, definite strokes, a variety of box sizes and muted hues gives this painting a very mature feeling.
Third Place
“A Walk in the Park” by Edward Abrams
A strong, peaceful and brief moment often recognized for its graphic composition and aroma of cut grass.
Second Place
“Dangling Participle” by Michiyo Matsuura
A uniquely original vision. So refreshing to see cutting-edge talent, intelligence and fresh presentation. Strong voice.
First Place
“A Day as Volunteer” by Gabriel Stockton
